ISO 45001 TRAINING | OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

ISO 45001 is the new standard from ISO that specifies requirements for an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System. The intent of the standard is to provide a framework for organizations to systematically and proactively improve their OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health. The standard will align with the new High Level Structure (Annex SL) adopted by other revised ISO standards. It will also incorporate and replace other popular Occupational, Health, and Safety standards such as BS OHSAS 18001 and ILO Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines.

The new structure makes easier to integrate with other management system standards. It provides a framework for organizations to integrate safety into their business processes and manage the safety of their workforce. ISO 45001 converts some of the implied requirements of BS OHSAS 18001 to explicit requirements for organizations to implement.

As with the other ISO standards based on the HLS, ISO 45001 addresses  context of the organization, needs of interested parties, and planning for risks. The new ISO 45001 includes requirements for leadership accountability and a new focus on worker participation, including leadership’s role in getting the workforce engaged.

If your organization is looking to transition from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001, now is the time to focus on identifying the context of their organization and the needs of the interested parties that are relevant to the system.

It is well known that having an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management system that meets internationally recognized standards enhances organizational performance, enables meeting OH&S challenges and thus improve stakeholder satisfaction and the bottom line. QMII adds value to our clients by:

  • Enabling them to manage risks
  • Ensuring that the management system drives continual improvement.
